Electric premiere for Dacia: the Spring Electric design study allows a preview of the brand’s first electric car. The market launch for the compact five-door is planned for 2021.

"Spring" is still the project name. But it indicates the time of the world premiere. The planned city SUV with electric drive is likely to be the Dacia version of the Renault K-ZE act that is already on the market in China.

The K-ZE is powered by a 45 hp electric motor that brings the car, which weighs only 900 kilos, up to a maximum of 105 km / h. The 27 kWh battery enables a range of around 250 kilometers. It remains to be seen whether Dacia will add a little more power and battery.

What for VW the ID.3, is the Mustang Mach-E for Ford: A calendar should begin with the electric car, which is undoubtedly inspired by the Mustang.

The Mustang Mach-E is an all-electric SUV that’s about the size of the Skoda Kodiaq.

There will be numerous variants: with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, with small or large batteries, with various electric motors. The basic version with 258 hp, rear-wheel drive and a range of 450 kilometers costs 46,900 euros in Germany. Mind you, with 19 percent VAT, as delivery will only begin after January 1, 2021, as can be seen in the price list.

Nissan’s new electric SUV won’t hit the market until 2021. The Ariya is 4.59 meters long about the size of an X-Trail, but has a coupe-SUV look. Five versions are to be offered in Europe, including front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles with different performance levels and battery sizes.

The basic version with its 64 kWh battery covers around 360 kilometers, the electric motor has an output of 160 kW (218 hp). The second front-wheel drive has an 87 kWh battery and covers around 500 km on one charge. The other three versions are all-wheel drive with 64 kWh or 87 kWh, whereby the all-wheel drive with a large battery will also be available in a performance version. In Europe, it is charged via a CCS connection.

The Mercedes EQS is not just the electric offshoot of the next S-Class, but a completely new development. Daimler boss Ola Kallenius recently confirmed that the production version has a range of more than 700 kilometers according to WLTP. The batteries for this are manufactured in-house at Daimler’s plant in Unterturkheim.

The Vision EQS study serves as a template from 2019: Electric motors on the front and rear axles provided the drive. This resulted in a fully variable all-wheel drive with more than 475 hp and around 760 Newton meters of torque.

The 100 km / h sprint was achieved in less than 4.5 seconds and the top speed is over 200 kilometers. It remains to be seen whether the series EQS will be presented in 2020. It will definitely not be on the market until 2021.

Mazda’s first electric car is called the MX-30. The new model is a 4.40 meter long SUV. The MX-30 has a range of just 200 kilometers according to WLTP. The battery is also only 35.5 kWh. According to Mazda, this order of magnitude should be the most sustainable. The output is 107 kW (145 PS) and 271 Nm.

With the new VAT, prices start at 32,646 euros. The car will be at the dealer from September 25, 2020. The suicide doors at the rear are a special feature.

Fiat brings the third generation of the 500 and 500C as an electric car on the market. Even if the platform is new and six centimeters longer than before, the car hardly looks any different from its predecessor.

The 42 kWh battery enables a range of 320 kilometers (WLTP). The electric motor has an output of 87 kW (118 PS). Charging is carried out with up to 85 kW direct current or with a maximum of 11 kW alternating current. The 500C La Prima can already be ordered, but according to the Fiat website, deliveries will not start until November 2020.

The Opel Mokka with electric drive (presumably it is called Mokka-e) starts at the beginning of 2021. It will receive the drive from the PSA Group, known for example from the Corsa, with 100 kW (136 PS) and a 50 kWh battery. This means that the car should cover 322 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.

The dimensions of the 4.15 meter long Mocha are similar to those of the DS 3 Crossback E-Tense. The trunk volume is just as large as there at 350 liters; the maximum volume has not yet been named, but it should be around 1,050 liters, similar to the DS car. Opel is still keeping a low profile when it comes to prices, but the car should be available to order from late summer 2020.

The Polestar 2 is an electric car with 408 hp four-wheel drive. The technology is apparently the same as in the Volvo XC40 Pure Electric. With a length of 4.61 meters, the five-door hatchback sedan (this is how the manufacturer rightly classifies the car because it has a large tailgate) is much larger and belongs to the middle class. The car competes against the Tesla Model 3.

The base price mentioned in the spring was a bearable 39,900 euros, but this variant will probably not come until 2021. The Polestar configurator currently has a base price of 56,440 euros before funding. According to the configurator, those who order now will receive the car in October 2020.

The Tesla Model Y is, so to speak, the SUV version of Model 3. The drives are the same as this one, but the basic Standard Plus model is missing. You can already order the Model Y, but according to the Tesla configurator, production will not start until the beginning of 2021.

Prices in Germany currently start at 59,600 euros. For this you get the version "maximum range" with all-wheel drive and 505 km range according to WLTP. There is also the "Performance" version with better acceleration for 66,600 euros. As always with Tesla, you have to be prepared for frequent price changes (up or down).

The VW ID.3 is about as long as the Golf at 4.26 meters, but the wheelbase is 14 centimeters longer. This should lead to an interior space like in the Passat. The drive is provided by an electric motor on the rear axle with 150 kW (204 PS). Three variants with a range of 330, 420 and 550 WLTP kilometers have been announced.

The 37,000 "pre-bookers" get the special edition 1ST with the medium range in one of three specified configurations (1ST, 1ST Plus and 1ST Max). The first customer vehicles will be delivered in September.

The general public can order from July 20 and then have the choice between the medium and the large battery. Here, too, there are only preconfigured models. The promised basic model with the small battery for 30,000 euros should also be available for order in a few months. However, it will not be on the market until 2021.

The next few months will be exciting for both automakers and car buyers. And that in the truest sense of the word: By 2021, almost every brand will bring one or more completely newly developed electric cars on the market.

Technically designed exclusively for the electric drive, these vehicles replace the previous makeshift solutions in which an existing combustion engine was converted into an electric car. The latest generation of e-cars are completely independent, offer plenty of space and a good range. The price is also mostly fair in relation to what is offered.

On top of that, there are state premiums make buying an electric car even more attractive in many European countries. In our overview, we will show you which 10 new e-cars are worth waiting for.
