Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo
E-sports suit for the rough
Porsche brings the Taycan as "Cross Turismo". So the Stromer gets a combination rear and some off-road talent. Above all, it remains an impressive car on the road.
Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo
Porsche broke new ground with the Taycan: In 2019, Porsche presented its first electric car.
As is typical for the brand, the focus was not on maximum efficiency – but on performance. The Taycan should prove that sporty driving fun is also possible with an electric drive. In addition, Porsche was the first manufacturer to bring an e-car with an 800 volt electrical system onto the market. By doubling the usual voltage of 400 volts, the Taycan constantly achieves its maximum performance over a longer period of time – and above all it can charge much faster. In just over 22 minutes, the battery is 80% full again at a suitable charging station. Apparently, Porsche did a lot of things right with the Taycan, because it has already sold around 700 units in Switzerland – and in 2021 it is in the top 15 among electric cars, which is quite remarkable given the high price.
Now Porsche is expanding the range – with an alternative that is quite exciting, especially for the Swiss market, where station wagons are in great demand: The Cross Turismo has a steeply sloping station wagon rear and can be supplied with roof rails if desired Mounting of roof racks – and is also suitable for easy off-road passages. Admittedly not for big off-road adventures over rugged rocks and through deep ditches, but rather for off-road driving relevant to everyday life on country lanes or driveways covered in deep snow. As a bonus, boarding is a little easier thanks to the 20 – 30 millimeters (depending on driving mode and equipment) increased ground clearance.

Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo
There is not much to feel from the raised body on winding country roads. The Cross Turismo also rushes through corners with amazing grip, thanks to all-wheel steering nimble steering and amazingly little body roll.
In contrast to the normal four-door, the Cross Turismo is always equipped with all-wheel drive; an electric motor on each axle provides propulsion; even in the entry-level model, which only gets by with rear-wheel drive in the four-door version. In addition, the larger "Performance Battery Plus" with 83.7 instead of 71 kWh usable capacity and air suspension are always installed in the Cross Turismo. This puts the 12,300 francs higher purchase price into perspective (Taycan Cross Turismo from 112,600 francs), especially since the all-wheel drive also provides more power: even the basic model has 476 hp and sprints to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. H.
In addition, three further model variants are available; Here, too, the “Turbo S” marks the peak with 761 hp, which sprints to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and costs at least 227,000 francs.
What all model variants have in common is the luggage compartment with 84 liters at the front and 430 liters at the rear – only 27 more than in the four-door model. With the rear seat folded down, this becomes 1196 liters and significantly more utility. This makes the new Cross Turismo – and especially the entry-level model – a very interesting alternative to the well-known Taycan, provided that the Porsche station wagon not only suits the lifestyle but also the budget.
