Mini Cooper SE (from March 2020)
We almost overlooked it: Originally it was said that the electric mini would be produced from November 2019 and then come onto the market. Now the market launch should not be until March 2020.
At 270 kilometers according to the NEDC, the range is not exactly great. But the performance (184 hp) is on the level of a Cooper S and the trunk is no smaller than this. Prices start at 32,500 euros.

Peugeot e-2008 (from early 2020)
Back to Peugeot: The 2008 is also available with an electric drive, the technical data are similar to the e-208. But the trunk volume is larger here, 405 to 1,467 liters fit in here instead of 236 to 1,106 liters as in the e-208. Another difference is that the CCS charging connection is standard on the e-2008. By the way: We are looking forward to the Opel equivalent, which should also be launched in 2020, possibly as a Mokka-e.

Opel Corsa-e (from spring 2020)
The Peugeot e-208 has the "e" in front of the series designation, the Opel Corsa-e has it at the back. But the look is also significantly different, although both cars use the same technology. But otherwise the two sister models are very similar. Sprint data (8.1 seconds for 100 km / h) and top speed (150 km / h) are the same. The trunk volume is also similar to that of the Peugeot (236 to 1,106 liters) with 267 to 1,042 liters.

Peugeot e-208 (from February 2020)
Another small electric car, the Peugeot e-208, will be launched in February 2020. With 340 WLTP kilometers, it offers significantly more range than the Honda. Loaded is standard three-phase (with the German version) with up to 11 kW alternating current or, from the Active version, also with up to 50 kW direct current via a CCS connection. At 4.05 meters in length, the Peugeot is significantly larger than the Honda e and, unlike this one, it has front-wheel drive. The electric motor develops a maximum of 136 hp, you don't feel the low continuous output of just 77 hp, the high torque of 315 Nm is decisive for the driving impression.

Honda e (from early 2020)
The strength of the Honda e lies in its looks, because that's great. On the outside, the designers have opted for a retro look, inside the small Japanese offers large displays and fine wood. With rear-wheel drive, the car could be suitable for drifts in winter. Two variants with 136 and 154 hp maximum output are available. Good values, but disappointing with the range of only 220 kilometers. The Honda configurator mentions charging via CCS connection with up to 100 kW DC voltage, but whether this is possible as standard remains open. With alternating current one can apparently charge up to 6.6 kW. The trunk volume of the 3.90 meter long small car is not yet known.

VW e-Up (from early 2020)
Like its corporate brothers, the VW e-Up is also likely to launch at the beginning of this year. We don't have to say anything more about the drive; Here, too, the range is around 260 kilometers, a CCS connection costs extra. The trunk has a capacity of 251 to 959 liters. That’s neat. By way of comparison: the Kia Picanto, which is roughly the same size and has a petrol engine (251 to 1,010 liters), doesn't fit much more luggage.

Seat Mii electric (from early 2020)
The drive of the Seat Mii electric is the same as that of the Skoda. As there, the maximum output is 61 kW (83 PS), the continuous output is 40 kW (54 PS). This means that the VW Group's small electric vehicles don't have more power than the Smarts. The car is driven by the front wheels. A CCS connection, which can also be used for charging with direct voltage, costs an extra charge, otherwise a maximum of 7.2 kW alternating voltage is used.

Skoda Citigo e iV (from the beginning of 2020)
The Skoda Citigo e iV offers significantly more range than the two Smarts: According to WLTP, 260 kilometers are within it, and it is similar in size for the identical sister models VW e-Up and Seat Mii electric. Unlike the Smarts, charging also works with direct current, then with 40 kW. The CCS connection required for this is only standard with the higher-end equipment, otherwise it costs an extra charge. As standard, charging is carried out with alternating current with a maximum charging power of 7.2 kW. You have been able to order the car since September 2019, but the car will not be available at the dealer until "early 2020" – Skoda does not say more precisely.

Smart EQ Forfour
The Smart Forfour will also only be powered electrically in the future. The drive is the same as with the two-seater, and the range is practically identical. But there are differences in the sprint: The Fortwo only needs 11.6 seconds to reach 100 km / h, the 3.50 meter long Forfour 12.7 seconds. But the trunk volume is bigger here and you can take the children with you.

Mazda MX-30 (from summer 2020)
Mazda's first electric car is called the MX-30. Although the name of the car is similar to the MX-5, it is an SUV, not a roadster. Also strange: the car only has a range of 200 WLTP kilometers. It is therefore at most suitable as a second car. The electric motor has an output of 106 kW (144 hp). It is charged via a ChaDeMo charging connection or via a combo connection that is compatible with CCS. It can be charged with up to 50 kW DC or up to 6.6 kW AC. A special feature of the 4.40 meter long vehicle are the suicide doors at the rear.

Volvo XC40 Recharge (from 2020)
The first Volvo with electric drive is called the XC40 Recharge. It has two electric motors of 150 kW each (one per axle), which gives a total of 408 hp. There are two 150 kW electric motors, one per axle. There is also a 78 kWh battery, which should ensure a WLTP range of "over 400 kilometers". The market launch is in 2020, the exact date is not yet known.

VW ID.3 (from mid-2020)
The VW ID.3 is probably one of the highlights of this overview, because it is the first electric car based on the modular electrification kit (MEB). At 4.26 meters, it is about as long as the Golf, but the wheelbase is 14 centimeters longer. This should lead to an interior space like in the Passat. Three variants with a range of 330, 420 and 550 WLTP kilometers have been announced. Market launch is in mid-2020.

Fiat 500 Elektro (from July 2020)
Not much is known about the electric Fiat 500, even if, strangely enough, the date of market launch (July 4th) has already been set very precisely. In the absence of an official picture, we are showing a rendering. The car will be based on a new platform specially developed for electric cars – possibly the one on which the Fiat Centoventi design study was based based. So that there is enough space in the underbody for the batteries, the 500 Elektro will have a larger wheelbase than the normal 500. The first prototypes have already been spotted. The trade fair premiere is at the Geneva Motor Show in spring.

Renault K-ZE or Dacia K-ZE
We still have to put a question mark behind the Renault K-ZE. The car is currently only produced for China, but according to Renault electric car boss Gilles Normand, a modified version will also come to Europe, possibly as a Dacia. At 3.74 meters, the China version is significantly shorter than a Dacia Duster, which measures 4.34 meters.

Polestar 2 (from May 2020)
The Polestar 2 is an electric car with 408 hp four-wheel drive. With a length of 4.61 meters, the car belongs to the middle class. The WLTP range should be an impressive 500 kilometers. The car should compete against the Tesla Model 3. According to the configurator, the market will be launched in May 2020.

Ford Mustang Mach-E (from
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is expected to be on the market at the end of 2020. At 4.70 meters in length, the electric SUV is roughly the size of a Skoda Kodiaq. There are two battery versions (Standard Range with 76 kWh and Extended Range with 99 kWh) and versions with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. Depending on the version, the range is up to 600 kilometers.

Mercedes EQA
There is still no real picture of the planned Mercedes EQA. The rendering by Kleber Silva (Behance) however, shows what the electric version of the GLA could look like. The range should be over 450 kilometers, otherwise nothing is known yet. Like the EQA, an EQB (the electric version of the GLB) is to be shown in 2020 and will probably also be on the market in 2020. The EQS, on the other hand, is not expected until 2021.

Seat el-Born
There is still no photo of the production version of the Seat El-Born, so we are showing the study. The car will be launched in 2020 and will use the same technology as the VW ID.3. This means that the electric drive brings up to 150 kW (204 PS), the range will probably be different depending on the version, as with the ID.3.

Smart EQ Fortwo
After the facelift, the Smart Fortwo is only available as an electric car. The electric drive still offers 60 kW (82 HP) peak power, the continuous output is only 41 kW (56 HP). The range is quite limited at 160 NEDC kilometers, but sufficient for the city (the ecological niche of the Smart). Charging is standard with 4.6 kW, but optionally with up to 22 kW three-phase alternating current. The market launch for the tiny 2.69 meter long is at the beginning of 2020.
