“Audi pursues a clear technological roadmap with a focus on electromobility and digitization,” says Sabine Maaben, inwards for personnel and organization at Audi, about the orientation of the Brussels plant. As part of the production of the eight millionest vehicle at Audi Brussels, Markus Duesmann, chairman of the Executive Board of Audi AG, was officially known that with the Audi Q8 E-Tron will run another E-SUV from 2026 there from the band.
The car manufacturer arranges that more than 3.000 employees currently manufacture the models audi e-tron, e-tron sportback, e-tron s and the e-tron s sportback in the work. More than 115.000 units have been produced so far. And the models of the e-tron family will continue to roll off the assembly line in Brussels in the coming years. At the event in Brussels, Markus Duesmann deliberately looked to the future and emphasized the location’s role as a “key plant for electromobility in the Audi Group”. Production of the brand’s first all-electric SUV started here with the Audi e-tron.
“The future will be electric. Our Forest facility is carbon neutral. And when we deliver a new vehicle, we do it with a ‘zero emissions’ perspective.”. Based on this experience, the next car produced here will be the Audi Q8 e-tron, the electric successor to the current e-tron. This choice can be explained by the current success.– Markus Duesmann, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG
The largest Audi should also be available purely electrically from 2026: According to a media report, the Ingolstadt-based company plans to produce the vehicle, which is true to the Audi nomenclature Q8 e-tron, in Brussels. According to Automobilwoche, the e-tron will be phased out in 2026 and replaced by the Q8 e-tron. The e-tron quattro should get a facelift by 2023 at the latest before it is phased out in 2026. However, Duesmann’s confirmation was only picked up by the Belgian media who were present at the event in Brussels. There is no mention of this in the company’s official announcement.
There is little information about the Q8 e-tron itself, mainly of a technical nature. It can currently be assumed that, like the Q6 e-tron built in Ingolstadt from 2023, it will be based on the PPE e-platform. However, it would also be conceivable to set it up on the Scalable Systems Platform (SSP), with which the VW Group intends to replace the two e-platforms MEB and PPE from the middle of the decade. However, the first PPE model is said to be a Porsche, the compact SUV Macan, which is set to make its debut next year before the two 6-series Audis.

“Our plant in Forest is CO2 neutral”….
Evidence for this claim would be good. Belgium covers most of its energy needs (45%) from nuclear power and 27% from natural gas. Both are E2E not Co2 neutral. And the nuclear power plants are ancient.
Only 15% comes from renewable energy sources.
