The super sports car, which is limited to 918 pieces, will also be available in the iconic striped look of the Martini Racing design from the 1970s. Production of the hybrid car will start in 2013.

P.orsche will probably also deliver the hybrid super sports car 918 Spyder in a retro look. A prototype in Martini Racing design from the 1970s is currently doing its laps on the Nurburgring. The Barcadi Group’s beverage brand was a partner of the Porsche works team between 1973 and 1978.

A new cooperation agreement allows the historic Martini look to be adopted for the production model upon customer request, said a spokesman for the sports car manufacturer. It has not yet been decided whether the car will actually be available in the white, blue and red sponsor’s dress.

770 PS and a top speed of 320 km / h

What is certain, however, is that production of the 918 Spyder will start in mid-September 2013. According to Porsche, the hybrid drive with a system output of 566 kW / 770 PS consumes only around three liters per 100 kilometers in the prototype, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of around 70 g / km. However, in normal operation and not on the Nordschleife.

The top speed should be 320 km / h, the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h should take a maximum of 3.2 seconds. A seven-speed dual clutch transmission is responsible for power transmission.
