The Swedish manufacturer Saab presents its new model 9-4X earlier than announced. The SUV will debut in November.

Noch this year, the Saab 9-4X SUV will be presented to the public – on November 17th at the Los Angeles Auto Show in California, as the organizer has now announced. A presentation date was originally announced in spring 2011.

Like its sister model Cadillac SRX, the 9-4X stands on the enlarged platform of the Chevrolet Captiva and Opel Antara. It is being built by GM on behalf of Saab at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

The model plays a decisive role in the future of the Swedish manufacturer. The introduction of a diesel engine that would help the 9-4X in Europe has not yet been decided. It had been speculated on various occasions that such an engine could be supplied by BMW.
