Two turbochargers squeeze up to 600 Nm from the eight-cylinder mounted in the middle behind the seats. That’s enough for a sprint from zero to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds. After 9.5 seconds the needle is at 200 km / h and the end is only at 328 km / h. The 911 can keep up with the sprint, but at full throttle it loses out.

In addition to the powerful drive, there is a seven-stage double clutch, an adaptive chassis, a three-stage character control that can be adjusted separately for the drive and suspension, as well as a lot of options from the categories aerodynamics and lightweight construction.

McLaren is talking about a new series, emphasizes the everyday suitability of the comfortable interior with a digital cockpit and the large, upright touchscreen in the standing center console and even boasts the largest trunk in the segment with 144 liters under the front flap.

But as much as the English praise and showcase their new vehicle, you have to look carefully if you want to distinguish the New York innovation from its big brother. Because although the 4.53 meter long, 2.10 meter wide and 1.20 meter flat sports car probably hardly shares any part of the aluminum body exactly with the 650S, the designers were very inspired.

Even at full trim, the 570S weighs only 1313 kilos in the best case and is more than 160 kilos lighter than the best competitor.

The only thing missing now is the prices. But you can easily do it yourself: If the 650S starts at 231,500 euros and the basic version of the Porsche 911 Turbo with 520 hp costs at least 165,149 euros, the new McLaren will probably be pretty much in between: 190,000 euros should therefore be a very reasonable estimate being.
